Vic emigrated to New Zealand in 1963 after gaining an honours degree in design education and a diploma in wood and metal crafts from the Loughborough University of Technology. Vic worked for thirty years as a high school teacher in wood and metal crafts before becoming an independent design and manufacturer of fine furniture. His designs are influenced by the Arts and Craft tradition and he is drawn by the timeless qualities of design and construction which evolved from the best work done in the late 19th century. Vic has exhibited widely in New Zealand and his work can be found in the Waikato Museum of Art & History, The Arts Centre in Christchurch and the Dowse Museum in Lower Hutt.
Vic was awarded a QEII Arts Council Grant to study Danish furniture in Copenhagen, and lives in the Coromandel in the house and studio he built with his wife, where he continues create private and corporate commissioned fine furniture.
